Double Taxation

Incorrect statements have been made in public Council Meetings asserting that paying AVCA dues in addition to paying city taxes is "double taxation." To be clear, no funds from the dues that AVCA members pay are spent on city facilities, and the city taxes are not used to maintain AVCA facilities. There is no cross-over unless the City Council votes to do so, and AVCA has a strict policy that precludes the Board from spending its members' dues on city facilities. 

Any assertion that AVCA dues are used for city facilities are false and have confused members and caused unnecessary concern.
